Once upon a time there was a beautiful young girl who married a handsome prince from Greenland and had two children. As she became older and wiser, she realized there was no such thing as a prince from Greenland at which point, he disappeared in a puff of gold star dust SFX: MAGICAL SOUND.

There she was left to raise a family on what she earned stamping hotel names in soap bars. To get a better job, she'd have to go to college. But how would she get to class? Her magic carriage had turned into a squash when the prince vanished. Her salary could barely pay the electricity in the palace, so how could she afford it? And WHO would look after the kids what with the fairy Godmother gone? Just as she was about to kiss a frog, SFX: GALLOPING HORSE a knight in shining armor appeared. He said Durham Tech would assist her with tuition, transportation and childcare. As he rode off into the sunset, she wondered if this was another fairy tale. Now she's a computer systems analyst. You could live happily, too if you called 470-3824 to sign up for classes starting Sept 6. That's 470-TECH. What are you waiting for? A knight in shining

"Gum Scraper"

VOICEOVER:
It was Barbara's job to scrap used gum off parking lots--a specialized field but not a particularly respected one. She always thought she'd have the kind of job that would inspire her children to follow in her footsteps. "Let's hope they don't," she sighed as she scraped a huge sticky glob from her shoe. Was this all there was to life? As she pondered the question SFX: APPROACHING CAR ENGINE, she ignored THE MOST IMPORTANT safety rule of her job. Never lie down in a parking lot to ponder a philosophical question, or you may get run over by a car.

Well that very thing happened, but luckily, she wasn't hurt too seriously. As she lay there on the warm asphalt, it came to her that this was a sign. A sign she should go to college, Durham Tech, of course, and pursue a career in auto mechanics. The moral of the story is....get your tail in gear and sign up for classes starting September 6th at Durham Tech. Because waiting for the idea to hit you may be hazardous to your health. Simply call 470-TECH. Again, that's 470-3824.
